Asking the hard questions: bringing accountability to affordable housing

Last month I wrote about the taxpayer dollars spent trying to make state administrators and politicians feel better about the millions already wasted on Oregon's version of Obamacare.

Unfortunately there are less obvious but no less expensive examples of government waste.  I would like to highlight one today: Oregon's (not-so-affordable) affordable housing program.  My team put together a video highlighting part of a committee meeting last year where I asked a state administrator why government sponsored affordable housing costs far more than private sector housing.  You can watch the short video below:

I'm doing my best to hold state administrators accountable by asking the hard questions.  Much more work needs to be done to get to the bottom of the billions upon billions of state spending.  But I want to keep striving for government accountability, which is why I am running for re-election to the legislature.
